I really hope that this is the last part of taming-the-bitchy-skin saga. Got damn tired from looking for the suitable skincare product to treat my super-reactive-flaky-red-acne skin zomg..

After a few months of calm period due to the routine use of steroid gel given by my dermatologist, I thought I could not lean on steroid forever though it gave me the nicest complexion & texture since my skin started acting up in late 2009. I know the adverse effects steroid might give me and I don't want to risk my skin in the long run.

Since tapered-down usage of the gel also didn't work out for me (my skin would be fine for the first few days and then it began acting up with redness & pin-point liquid-filled bumps appearing..), I decided to just stop using it.

At all.

And thanks to my perpetual searching effort for a suitable moisturizer for my bitchy skin, I eventually came across this one. Never heard of this brand before as it's not sold here, so I searched for some reviews as well. Found a girl in Makeupalley.com who's got similar skin problem like mine (on steroid for a long term, red, flaky, and super reactive skin too), I decided to bet my luck with it.

I got mine from StrawberryNET.com at around IDR 350K or something. They provide free shipping worldwide.

It's said to contain NO preservative, parabens, fragrance, alcohol, colorant, and lanolin. It's a basic moisturizer after all. To preserve the product, the company employ a hermetic bottle, to me it's quite sophisticated hahaha.. Go to La Roche-Posay website if you keen on more information about that.

I've been using it for 13 days. So far seemed like no reaction occured.. *knock on wood. Usually, if my skin doesn't like it, after two days a patch of redness plus clusters of pin-point liquid-filled bumps quickly appear.
So far, my skin feels less tight and more comfortable. The redness is still there, but Mr. E told me that it's reduced slightly. And the pin-point liquid-filled bumps that usually appear if my skin gets too dry, still usually do here and there, but it's definitely not the same reaction I usually have if my skin doesn't like it.

Upon application, my skin feels much calmer and the redness usually more even toned wtf. Hahaha.. I know it sounds weird, but it's what happens. It becomes less red of course, but yeah somehow more even-toned.. There's no other word to describe it.
However, since I spend most of my time in an air-conditioned room everyday, after 4-5 hours my skin started to get dry again. So I either need to wash my face & reapply the product.

I'm putting my faith in this product, so I'll keep using it for longer time and cross my finger to see better result.. :)

Will update soon.
